Role Overview & Key Functions:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff or Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. This role is a key contributor to the monthly and quarterly close process, with a focus on general and administrative (G&A) accruals, balance sheet account reconciliations, and support for accounts payable operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, support public filing requirements, and maintain a strong internal control environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries related to G&A accruals and other expense categories.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, including reviewing invoices, ensuring accurate coding, and supporting vendor inquiries.
  • Contribute to the month-end and quarter-end close process, including preparation of financial reporting support schedules.
  • Participate in the tie-out of quarterly and annual public filings (10-Q, 10-K), including preparation of supporting documentation and audit deliverables.
  • Support the companies’ activities with external auditors and internal auditors

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or CPA track preferred.
  • 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a public company or public accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Experience with Great Plains preferred and proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

At Karyopharm, base pay is one part of a competitive total rewards package that includes comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and more), equity and the potential to receive annual target bonuses. Actual pay is based on factors such as location, experience, skills, education, and internal equity. We maintain broad salary ranges to reflect market conditions and the specialized nature of our work. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $105–$120k USD.
