Role Overview & Key Functions:

We are looking for an experienced professional who understands and can live our corporate ICARE values of Innovation, Courage, Alignment/Accountibility, Resilience, and Energy every day as we drive to bring new therapeutics to the market in the fight against cancer. The Regional Business Director provides leadership and direction of field sales representatives to achieve Karyopharm objectives, meet customer needs, foster team development and drive sales of XPOVIO within approved indications.

 

Reporting to our Vice President, US Sales, you will positively impact patients’ when you:

 

  • Develop field sales plans and lead a regional team of field sales representatives
  • Allocate total regional sales budget and control expenses accordingly to meet or exceed business objectives
  • Coordinate with Market Access and Medical Affairs functions at regional level
  • Understand key market drivers and business dynamics and provide those insights cross-functionally
  • Teach, train, and coach sales professionals regarding product and disease state knowledge
  • Identify training needs and communicate with sales training team
  • Ensure strong execution of all commercial initiatives at the field level.  Provide recognition of outstanding performance while taking action to improve behaviors to drive performance when needed.
  • Travel with sales reps to key accounts, as needed
  • Identify, recruit, and retain top talent to fill vacant sales positions
  • Collaborate with sales training to design programs for launch meetings, plan of action, and other sales training and planning meetings
  • Foster relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), MD networks, and other industry contacts
  • Oversee compliance from field sales team on all company policies, as well as all legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Collaborate with brand team providing field level insights to help influence and drive brand strategy

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience
  • 2+ years of pharmaceutical field sales management experience at a regional level preferred
  • Significant experience within oncology or rare disease, including product launch(es)
  • Solid knowledge of retail, hospital, and managed care environments

At Karyopharm, base pay is one part of a competitive total rewards package that includes comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and more), equity and the potential to receive annual target bonuses. Actual pay is based on factors such as location, experience, skills, education, and internal equity. We maintain broad salary ranges to reflect market conditions and the specialized nature of our work. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $230 K –$260 K USD.
